Area of study: Life Science - Structure of a flower.
 

Objectives:  1)  Students will research the structure of a flower using the Internet. 
                   2)  Students will label flower parts and functions on their 
                              worksheets.
                   3)  After completion of worksheets, students will dissect a flower and 
                        produce a diagram.
 

Resources:  Computer connected to the Internet, a flower, dissection kit, a paper 
                       plate, and a team of three students.
 

Your Task:  Label structural parts of a flower and answer the following questions
                           using these Internet sites.

 *  When your team has completed the worksheet, send a team member to the 
    supply table to pick up a dissection kit, paper plate, black construction paper, 
    glue, a flower, and instruction sheet.

 *   Dissect your flower, then glue the parts to the paper plate.
     Label each part of the flower.

Create a Crossword Puzzle

Use the Puzzlemaker web site to create a crossword puzzle for the class. 
Be sure to use all of the vocabulary you have learned in this lesson. 
Print the puzzle and answer key and have other students complete the puzzle
